Stichting Betaald Voetbal Vitesse, in short SBV Vitesse and better known as Vitesse Arnhem has installed a new sporting management with Johannes Spors at the end of the 2019/2020 season. The objectives were set straight. The club wants to qualify for the European competitions and the link between the “Vitesse Academy” and the first team should be developed even further.
In one of the first projects of BPTC’s young history, Vitesse teamed up with us was to provide the club’s sporting management with a detailed and objective status quo analysis of the existing strengths and potentials of the “Vitesse Academy”. A special focus was set on the transition processes from the academy to the professional area.
After intense preparations and organizations, we conducted a total of almost 15 interviews and discussions in three days of on-site presence in Arnhem, observed training sessions, and regularly shared and discussed our impressions with the management. In the discussions with the academy director, numerous youth coaches, scouts, analysts, and athletic and medical experts, we gained a very good overview of communication channels, work processes, and the playing identity.
All discussions were summarized in detailed meeting transcripts and documented in a comprehensive evaluation, including all our impressions and conclusions. The status-quo report, including a proposal for a medium-term strategic action plan, was presented to the sporting management and discussed in the follow-up.
The “Vitesse Academy”, like the entire club, is a highly professional and efficient organization that operates very successfully and shows great potential for sharpening and developing the club’s identity in the medium to long term.
